IEFT TALKS WEBINARS FOR “ONLINE EDUCATION PROVIDERS” THE DEMAND FOR ONLINE EDUCATION IS INCREASING IN TURKEY Covid-19 is likely to change the future of learning. While coronavirus has hampered education in184 countries for over 1.5 billion students– 87% of students across the globe, Turkey immediately turned to online or remote education initiatives with 18 million students and became the second country with nationwide remote education infrastructure. Due to the travel restrictions brought on by COVID-19,Turkish students are now interested in online educationat respectable educational institutions abroad more than ever before. Many students and adults now seek to carry on their language studies, undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and short term programs online. Important educational institutions around the world measure the perceptions of students and parents through some surveys they conduct online. In this context, asIEFT and IEFT Talkswe started a survey on 13 March 2020. The survey consists of 7 questions in total. The process of sampling took approximately two months and the survey was carried out online with the participation of over 500 Turkish students. Through our survey, we had the opportunity to measure how COVID-19 affected Turkish students' international education plans. BOOK YOUR WEBINAR NOW EFFECT OF COVID 19TO TURKISH STUDENTS SURVEY DONE BY IEFT According to the survey ourstudents who would like to study abroad, “%40 of Turkish students would like to take an online education opportunity”. The IEFT survey also shows that Turkish students choose online education because of its advantage in terms of cost and time flexibility. Turkish students also adapted quickly to the technological shift that occurred in the education industry. The number of students who have been to an online course throughpopular video conference platforms such as Zoomhas skyrocketed in the past few months due to various lockdown taking place around the world. The survey outlines %60 of Turkish students prefer to take online courses during the lockdown and continue their education on campus after the end of the spread of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Online education in Turkey now takes its place as a new type of an education system and will gradually increase to more programs and school training. Besides, of course, it is an indispensable fact that face-to-face education will continue for a long time. However, in this process, online courses and new programs to be opened simultaneously with face-to-face courses will gradually increase after the pandemic process.
